GIS HARDWARE
PARAM PADMA– Openframe parallel super computer with Two Sun Fire 280 R Dual Processor under SUN SOLARIS operating system. The PARAM openframe is loosely coupled MSMD type parallel computer. It is implemented in distributed computing environment in which each node can work either in stand alone or in clustered mode. The operating system installed on each system or node is based on the technique of separate supervisor in each processor to facilitate the system to work in both standalone as well as in clustered mode.

The main features are listed below:
  • A two Sun Fire 280 R Dual Processor 1.2 GHz CPU, each having 2 GB RAM.
  • Hard Disk 144 GB and Raid Storage is 72 GB.
  • 100 BASE T fast Ethernet Network.
  • 3 – COM SWITCH Network.
  • Solaris Operating system (version 9.0).
  • FORTRAN 77.
  • SPARC C.
  • SPARC WORKS, TEAMWARE .
  • Front-end machine for backup/restoration purpose .
  • A sizable number of Pentium systems as standalone workstations.

GIS WEBSERVERS
STORAGE AREA NETWORK (SAN) has been used for hosting of web-based INTERNET GIS Applications. It is a facility equipped with Rack based server at NIC Data Centre with more than 500 GB storage. This facility is functional with suitable firewall and network security environment.
 
 
IBM X335 with Dual 2 Ghz Xeon Processor, 4 GB DDR PC2100 ECC 200Mhz DIMM RAM, 36.4 GB Ultra SCSI Hot Swap Drive 10K RPM, Host Adapter FC & NF Fibre Channel 25M cable – 3No.s connected to Storage Box.

  • Geomatica 9.0 - Image Processing software for remote sensing applications.
  • PC ARC/INFO & ARC GIS 8.3 – A GIS software.
  • Cad Overlay ESP/LFX – Software for conversion of Raster data to Vector, for GIS and also for designing drafting of drawings.
  • SPANS – A GIS software with Image Processing capabilities.
  • ARC – IMS , AutoDesk MapGuide and SPANS Web SERVER INTERNET GIS Software.
  • ARC- SDE with Oracle for Database support.
  • Arc – Spatial Analyst, Arc – 3D Analyst and Map Object as extension of Arc GIS as well as for customization of GIS Applications.
  • IPSNIC (Version 3.0) - An in-house developed software for low end Image Processing Applications.
  • IPSNIC (Version 3.0) - An in-house developed software for low end Image Processing Applications.
  • GISNIC/MAPBASE (Version 3.0) - in-house developed software suitable for GIS applications.
